LTAM rules and ranking system for Junior Championships

POLICY
1. NATIONAL RANKING. All Junior Players in the Country are strongly encouraged to be officially ranked nationally by participating in recognized competitions. Ranking points can be earned by playing at the below mentioned tournaments sanctioned by LTAM.

2. QUALIFYING. A Junior Player who wishes to be ranked is encouraged to play in Category 2 and must play three (3) legs of the tournaments in Category 3(a).

3. ADDITIONAL RANKING POINTS. A Junior Player, who plays in Category 4 tournaments, may earn additional ranking points if it is deemed an “international” competition for each Age Group. At an “international” competition the award of ranking points is 1.5 times of the normal national ranking points. For the purposes of calculating ranking points “international” competitions in Category 4 are deemed “international” when there are eight (8) or more foreign entries in each Age Group. Otherwise, it is considered “national” and the award or ranking points will be as stipulated under Category 4.

4. DOUBLE/SINGLES RANKING POINTS. A Junior Player is strictly to play in both Singles and Doubles and is eligible to earn ranking points. Only thing, the ranking points for Doubles will be the Single ranking points shared amongst the two players or half of the Singles points for each player.

5. SELECTION FOR NATIONAL TEAM. A Junior Player will not be awarded any additional ranking points if selected to represent the Country.

6. PROTECTED RANKING. A Junior Player who is unable to play in any ranking competition by reason that he is selected to officially represent the Country at an international team event or sent by LTAM to participate in an ITF/ATF World Ranking Competition will have his current ranking protected/preserved.

7. RANKING VALIDITY. Ranking achieved is valid only for the Calendar year as determined by LTAM and will not be carried forward to the next year.
For the purpose of seeding in the FIRST tournament in the new year the ranking points at December 31st of the previous year will be considered for the same Age Group (carry over will not be applied over different Age Group).
