Another strategy adopted by LTAM to increase tennis participation is to create more and better qualified coaches throughout Malaysia. Our ability to create more quantity and quality coaches will mean more tennis players at grassroot and junior levels as they play a very important role in identifying and developing talents for our tennis development. At LTAM, we have set up a Development Sub-Committee - Coaching to tackle the need to conduct more courses and create more qualified coaches. It shall be responsible for all activities for the successful implementation of courses, programs, rules, regulations, guidelines and policies for the development of tennis coaching in Malaysia. Mr Cheng Joo Chong, Vice President, has been appointed the Chairman of this Sub-Committee.It is our vision to ensure all sanctioned tennis schools, clubs, centers and academies are managed by our qualified coaches, create a rewarding career path and finally, a coaching industry. Our hope is, they will not only concentrate on commercial coaching but instead give back something for the tennis sport, when they are successful, in the form of high performance coaching and generation of world class players.
