EXCITING LINE-UP CONFIRMED FOR BMW MALAYSIAN OPEN

The BMW Malaysian Open is all set to rock Malaysian soil come February 28th with an exciting line-up of world class players, following the inaugural tournament in Malaysia last year.

The tournament returns to Kuala Lumpur with BMW on board as the title sponsor, following an announcement by the luxury carmaker on January 11th.  The tournament is organized by the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM) and promoted by Carbon Media Management Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia.

Malaysian tennis scene gets special mention

It is indeed delightful to note that the Malaysian tennis scene and its players are slowly getting the recognition they deserve.

While there is still much to do before our players and tennis scene join the ranks of those in Europe or the USA, it is promising that the eyes of the world are paying special interest in our nation.

No go for FedCup

The Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM) did not send a team for this year's Fed Cup Asian/Oceania Group II which started in Thailand yesterday.

LTAM executive secretary Ibrahim Abu Bakar explained:

"We looked at several players including two Malaysian talents based in Sweden but they weren't good  enough.
