AHMAD Deedat Abd Razak and Choo Lyn Yuen will lead the Under-16 Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams, respectively in next month's Asia/Oceania Qualifiers in New Delhi, India.
Ahmad Deedat, together with Colin Wong and Duzbionjit Singh, were selected through a recent trial conducted by the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM).

KUCHING: Malaysian tennis players may not be as good as the rest of the players in the world now but they can be better competitors in a few years time.
Land Development Minister Dato Sri Dr James Jemut Masing said through better tennis facilities and professional development programmes, Malaysia can produce world-beaters.

Filipino junior netter Jeson Patrombon lined himself up for a possible double title win in the 17th Sarawak Chief of Ministers Cup after he and teammate Jaden Grinter of New Zealand entered the doubles finals of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Grade 1 event being played on the hard courts of the Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association Centre in Kuching, Malaysia.
He can accomplish that double title win if he gets past German qualifier Jannis Kahlke in the boys' singles semifinals.

RUSSIA'S defending champion Alisa Kleybanova was upset by the Netherlands' Michaella Krajicek in the second round of the BMW Malaysian Open at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort yesterday.
The unseeded Michaella lost the first set 6-4 but then came back to beat the World No 24 6-4, 6-3 to enter the quarter-finals against qualifier Anne Kremer of Luxembourg today.
France second seed Marion Bartoli battled nausea to advance into the last eight as Czech Republic's Lucie Safarova defeated Russia's former World No 1 Dinara Safina.
