Sabah players geared up for Sukma

The Sabah SUKMA Tennis Team left for Kuala Lumpur on the 31st May 2011 headed by Coach Mohd Zairi and Team Manager Betty Pang. The SUKMA Tennis event shall be held at the National Tennis Centre (NTC) Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur.
The Sabah boys players are Gideon Madelin, Gibson Medeli, Stefan Alex, Jonathan Lee and Nor Saiful Zaini. 
Girls players are: Serena Tang, Janice Chong, Joanne Chong, Milvia Alex and Megan Luk.
The players went through a selection process few weeks ago to be selected to represent Sabah for the SUKMA Games.

SI Yew Ming received a much-needed boost ahead of next month's Davis Cup by lifting his third straight National Circuit men's singles title in the third leg at the National Tennis Centre (NTC) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.


Paige Hourigan helps secure NZ spot in world junior tennis champs

She's only 14, but Paige Hourigan's passport is already collecting an impressive array of stamps.

The Marton schoolgirl's tennis exploits have taken her to India and Malaysia, and the Czech Republic should be next on her list.

New Zealand's under-14 hardcourt champion and under-16 doubles champ, she has just returned from the Asia Oceania qualifying event for the World Junior Tennis Finals.


Allowance ITF Official Badges

With effect June 1st, 2011, all holders of ITF White Badge and above shall recieve a monthly allowance of RM 500 till December 2011.

This decision was taken during the 10th Executive Council Meeting held on 08 April 2011.

Los Santos on fire

NSEEDED Juan Los Santos continued to defy the odds in the by reaching the National Circuit third leg men's singles final at the National Tennis Centre (NTC) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Los Santos ousted fourth seed Khoo Er Yang 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 6-2 in a three-hour semi-final battle.

He relied on his big serves and near perfect forehand game to dispose his more fancied opponent.


The 18-year-old, who is playing in his first tournament since December, plays top seed Si Yew Meng for the title.


Los Santos creates upset

UNSEEDED Juan Los Santos continued his impressive form in the National Circuit third leg by reaching the men's singles semi-finals at the National Tennis Circuit (NTC) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.


Salleh & Valentine emerge champs

Salleh Bakar and Valentine Vincent Puin emerged champion in the Cannon Challenge Trophy tennis tournament in Mukah recently.

They defeated Sout Mos and Farishan @ Francis in straight sets 7-5, 6-1 in the final. As winners they took home RM400 and the Cannon Challenge Trophy while Sout and Farishan bagged RM300 and trophy.

In third place was the pair of Anthony Basir/Richard Lu who defeated Osman Bujong/Ali Rasad in rubber sets 5-7, 6-2, 6-1.

They received RM200 and trophy while fourth-placed Osman /Ali received RM100 and trophy.
