The Asian 14/U Series is designed to assist in the development and promotion of tennis in the Asian region and improve ranking system for junior tennis in Asia for the 14/U age group - a tournament series that has the support of all member Nations of ATF and International Tennis Federation.

The Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur 2012 is thrilled to announce tennis’ newest Top 10 player, and one of the craftiest and most exciting players on the ATP World Tour, have today confirmed their participation in the US$947,750 ATP 250 tournament, to be held September 22 to 30 at Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil.

The ITF Board of Directors voted to uphold the appeal of Tennis Austria against the decision of the ITF Olympic Committee that Tamira Paszek (AUT) was not eligible for the Olympic Tennis Event because she had not fulfilled the Fed Cup component of the Olympic Eligibility Rule.

The first sponsored BMW Malaysian National circuit ended in a grand note, with a new champion in Syed Agil Syed Naguib who lost in the quarter final in leg 3, became the first winner of this rejuvenated tournament by beating Pruchya Isaro of Thailand, 76 (3) Pruchya retired in the second set . In the semi finals, Syed Mohd Agil defeated the number one seed, Ariez Elyaas Deen Heshaam, 63, 75. Pruchya downed Si Yew Ming, 64, 62. In the Ladies singles, the number one seed, 17 year old Polina Merenkova of Uzbekistan, found the going tough succumbed to Theiviya Selvarajoo, 64, 64.Before heading to the final, Polina beat Archanaah Rajan in a three set tussle, 61, 36, 63.

We are now in the final stage of the tournament where the finalist for the Men's and Ladies Singles has been decided. The Men's final is between Syed Mohd Agil who upset the number one seed, Ariez Elyaas Deen Hesham, 63,75. The number 2 seed of the tournament was toppled by unseeded Pruchya Isarow of Thailand, 64,62. The final tomorrow is between Syed Mohd Agil and Pruchya Isarow.

ITF AGM concludes in Copenhagen

Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, accompanied by Wimbledon doubles champion, Frederik Nielsen, officially opened the ITF Annual General Meeting in Copenhagen on Friday. The 2012 meeting was attended by 220 delegates, partners and staff.
Awards for Services to the Game approved were by the AGM for Dr. Ernst Wolner of Austria, Koji Watanabe of Japan, Mahesh Bhupathi of India, Vladimir Lazarev of Russia, Sergio Elias of Chile and Petra Pichalova-Langrova of Czech Republic. The AGM also approved an Award for Services to the Game for Alberto Riba (ESP) recommended by the ITF Coaches Commission.

BEACH TENNIS: Italians triumph in Moscow

Italy overcame Brazil 2-0 to win the inaugural ITF Beach Tennis World Team Championship in Moscow. Simona Briganti and Laura Olivieri, and Alessandro Calbucci and Luca Meliconi secured victory for the No. 1 seeds.

The tournament gets into fourth gear with the Men’s quarter finals played today. True to form, Ariez Elyaas, the number one seed, beat Khoo Er Yang, 62, 75 to move into the semi finals which shall be played Tuesday.Also advanced, Syed Mohd Agil who trounced Mohd Ashaari, 63, 61. Pruchya Isaro, unseeded from Thailand disposed of Indonesian, Marco Sitepu, 62, 63. Si Yew Ming proved that he is the player to beat and won his quarter finals match in three sets, over Ahmad Deedat, 46, 64,75. The semi finals to be played Tuesday features Ariez Elyaas facing Syed Mohd Agil and the second semi finals is between Pruchya Isarow and veteran Si Yew Ming. This should be an exciting match to watch.
