Kei Nishikori (pic) will play in the Malaysian Open at the Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil from Sept 24 to Oct 2, 2011.

The Japanese star is by far the best player from Asia since Thailand's Paradorn Srichaphan.

Nishikori reached the 3rd round at the Australian and Barcelona Opens, the quarter finals in Chennai and the semi finals in Delray Beach and Eastbourne. He reached the final in Houston.

This will be his second visit to KL.

"Last year I lost early as I had not played enough after my injuries. I am looking forward to returning to KL and hope to do better," said Nishikori.

"Everyone was nice to me before and I really appreciate this. It's always nice to go back to a tournament where you feel welcomed and comfortable."
