As expected, the seeding in the Men’s Singles was correct when Christopher Rungkat the number one seed, from Indonesia upstaged 5th ranked Ashaari Zainal, 62, 62 in the Semi Finals. In the second Semi Finals,  Ariez Elyaas, seeded second found Si Yew Ming too tough to handle and lost 62, 62. The Finals of the Men’s Singles between Christopher Rungkat and Si Yew Ming shall be played at 3.00pm on Sunday.

The Men’s Singles Finals for Tier 2, will witness promising player Koay Hao Sheng from Perlis who will be challenged by Mohd Faeez Said of Sabah.

In the Men’s Doubles Semi Finals, Christopher Rungkat and Roy Hobbs the number one seed defeated Ahmed Deedat and Christian Lee, 75, 75. The second Semi Finals saw Syed AgilSyed Naguib and Ashaari Zianal downed Si Yew Ming and Ariez Elyaas, 76(5) 63. In the Men’s Doubles Finals tomorrow, an exciting game is in store with flamboyant Syed Agil and Ashaari facing Christopher Rungkat and Roy Hobbs.

Meanwhile, the Ladies Singles Final between Choo Lyn Yuen of Kuching, Sarawak and Deria Nur Haliza of Indonesia shall take place on Sunday. Choo Lyn Yuen and Ti Jia Wei won the ladies doubles title when they beat the KL and Thai combination of Yus Syazlin Nabila Yusri and Siti Aisyah Idris, 64, 62.

In Tier 2 of the Ladies Singles, Syarifah Shafeenaz or popularly known as Kak Pah in the tennis fraternity from Perlis, defeated Wan Arisya Sri Balqis from SSMTMI, Johor 61, 61. Syarifah Shafeenaz added another title when she partnered Nur Fara Ain to capture the Tier 2 Ladies Doubles, defeating the Ye sisters of Kimberly and Cheryl of Sabah, 60, 60.
