The 5 days Scomi KL Open Tennis Championships came to a close Sunday, June 10, 2012, with Christopher Rungkat, the number one seed from Indonesia outclassed our local hero, Si Yew Ming in less than an hour, with the score 63, 62.
In an effortless tennis, Rungkat was superior in all aspect of the game that gave no chance for Si Yew Ming for a comeback. With a strong serve and devastating ground strokes, this was just to show what a Futures and an ATP player, like Rungkat are made of. This title is a boost for him who will compete in an ATP 250 tournament in Holland before heading to Wimbledon playing in the qualifying round. For Ming, it is not the end of the world. With his dedication and commitment, there’s still some tennis left for him. For consolation and solace, Ming should look up to Mahesh Bhupathi who at 38 years old can still win titles in Grand Slam tournaments.
