Ranking Points

1. DRAW CLASSIFICATION. In any LTAM sanctioned competition, where the Draw is more than 8, less than 12, the system of awarding ranking points shall be based on a Draw of 8. Relatively, in a Draw of more than 16, but less than 24, the system of awarding ranking points shall be based on a Draw of 16. In a Draw of more than 32, but less than 48, the system of awarding ranking points shall be based on a Draw of 32. In a Draw of 48 and more, the system of awarding ranking points shall be based on a Draw of 64.

DRAW CLASSIFICATION for SPORTEXCEL / MSN / MSSM / MILO National Junior Circuit ONLY.
The Boys Main Draw : the Draw Size shall be 32 for the 1st 5th legs over a maximum of 4 days.
The Girls Main Draw: the Draw Size shall be 32. Any Event in the Boys or Girls section which has less than 8 entries that Event shall be cancelled.
Any event in the Boys or Girls section which has less than 8 entries that Event shall be cancelled.

2. METHOD OF AWARD: The recommended system of awarding points are as follows: CATEGORY 1 : As stipulated by ITF? ATF point ranking system.

CATEGORY 2 : Ranking points to be awarded for both Singles and Doubles.

CATEGORY 3 : Only Ranking Points earned by competing in this Circuit will be taken into account. All other Ranking Points earned from participating in other Ranking tournaments will not be taken into account. There will be no Ranking Points awarded to Players in the Masters Circuit. Instead, the Winners and Runner-Ups will be given prizes, incentives. For the purpose of determining the overall Ranking Position for the year, all Ranking Points earned in the ensuring year will be taken into account.

Foreigners who are residing in Malaysia are eligible to play in the “Legs: of this Circuit”. But they are not allowed to participate in the Masters which is only for Malaysians.

CATEGORY 4 : Competitions are deemed “international” when 8 or more entries are foreigners in which case the awarding of ranking points is based on Category 2. If the competitions have less than 8 foreign entries than these are deemed to be “national” competitions in which case the awarding of ranking points shall be thus

“Foreigners” who are residing in Malaysia are not included in determining whether the competition is “international” or “national”.

In organizing the “Masters” the tournament can either be held on a Round Robin basis when there are 8 entries I the Boys and Girls Events or on a Knock Out basis when there are 16 entries in the Boys and Girls events.

COMPETITION FEATURES

CATEGORY 1 : Based on ITF and ATF rules where applicable.

CATEGORY 2 : If entries are more than the 32 Draw Size, Qualifying Round will be played on Friday (one day only) otherwise the Main Draw will start from Friday to Monday.

Qualifying : 1 Day (Friday) Main Draw : 3 Days (Saturday – Monday)

CATEGORY 3 :


SportExcel/MSN/MSSM/MILO National Junior Championship: Consisting a total of five (5) CIRCUIT Legs and one (1) Masters.

SportExcel/MSN/MSSM/MILO National 18U Championship: Consisting of three (3) Legs only.

CATEGORY 4 : Host State organizing tournaments must ensure that they have sufficient Court facilities before taking on the task of organizing tournaments.

CLOSING DATE : All entries must be accompanied with appropriate entry fees and must be submitted two (2)weeks before the commencement of the competition. The Host State must NOT accept entries with the accompanying appropriate fees. Acceptance of entries will close 14 days before commencement of competition. Acceptance List must be released 10 days before commencement of competition.

WITHDRAWAL : Players in the Main Draw and the Qualifying Rounds may withdraw from competition provided advance notice of three (3) working days is given prior to the commencement of the competition without incurring any penalties. All withdrawals must Be made in writing, fax or email.

RANKING UPDATE: It is the responsibility of the Tournament Director / Tournament Hon. Referee of each competition to submit the completed Draw Sheets and results to LTAM within three (3) days after the completion of the competition. LTAM will update the ranking points on the website within three (3) days of receipt of these documents.

PENALTY : All entries must be submitted to the Organizing Committee through State Associations (duly endorsed) together with the appropriate fees. Only entries submitted through State Association shall be accepted. As such, all State Associations are responsible in ensuring proper entries and withdrawal of their players. Players from inactive State Associations such as Pahang are allowed to submit their entries direct to the Organizing Committee.

ELIGIBILITY

All Malaysians are allowed to participate in the abovementioned LTAM Junior Championships subject to their permitted Age Groups. Foreigners residing in Malaysia are allowed to play but will not be eligible to represent the Country nor eligible to any reward or incentive scheme.

For the purposes of calculating the Age Group eligibility, the cut-off date will be 1st January during the year the competition is being held.

Players competing in National Junior Circuit must have reached their 13th birthday before start of the Main Draw & below the age of 18 years at 31st December.

FORMAT OF PLAY
The Format of Play shall be best of three tie break sets. In the even of inclement weather, the Organizing Committee reserves the right and has the sole discretion to determine the format of play to ensure successful completion of the competition.

AGE GROUP

As far as permitted and practicable, each competition will be organized according to the following recommended OWN Age Group.

(a) 18U (b) 16U (c) 14U (d) 12U (e) 10U (f) 8U

Only Boys and Girls born between 1st January 1988 and 31st December 1993 are eligible to compete in the 18U tournament. Players may not participate in this tournament unless they have reached their 13th birthday before the start of the Main Draw competition.

BALLS
Wilson US Open Balls will be used for all competitions.

SIZE OF DRAW
Maximum of thirty two (32) Draws for each Age Group except National Junior Circuit 18U (64 Draws) and if entries exceeded thirty two (32) Draws, there will be a Qualifying Round. For Masters the competition will be restricted to a maximum of sixteen (16) Draws.

ITF / ATF POINT CONVERSION
There will be no conversion of ITF / ATF ranking points to LTAM RULES AND RANKING SYSTEM. However, to determine the overall ranking position of junior player all ITF/ATF ranking points obtained by a junior player shall be used for seeding purposes in a tournament.

COMPETITION VENUE

JUNIOR CIRCUIT CODE OF CONDUCT All the Rules under Article II, III and IV in the ITF Junior Circuit Regulation are applicable to all Junior Circuit Events held by LTAM.
