American legend John McEnroe scored a double when he won both the singles and doubles matches in the Showdown of Champions KL 2008 at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
McEnroe beat arch rival Sweden's Bjorn Borg 7-6 (13-11) in the first singles event.
The outspoken star later partnered countryman James Blake to beat European pair Roger Federer and Borg 7-5 in the doubles event.
World No 2 Federer showed his true capabilities despite recovering from a back injury when he edged Blake 7-6 (10-7) in the other singles match.
The four stalwarts will continue their Asian Tour when they play in another exhibition match in Macau on Thursday.
Federer will then take a month's break in the Middle East before starting his season in the Australian Open scheduled Jan 19- Feb 1, 2009.
On another note, organisers of the Showdown of Champions KL 2008 have confirmed Russian star Maria Sharapova will play in an exhibition match next year.
