Selection Trial For Malaysia Open Futures 1,2 & 3 - NTC

This year, LTAM is planning to host the first 3 Legs of Malaysia Open ITF Futures with Prize Money of US$10,000 each from the 6 - 12 April 2009 at Kompleks Tennis Tun Razak (NTC) for the 1st Leg, from 13 - 19 April 2009 at Kelana Jaya Tennis Complex for the 2nd Leg and from the 20 - 26 April 2009 at Kompleks Tennis Tun Razak (NTC) for the 3rd Leg. There will be a Main Draw of 32 and a Qualifying Draw of 64 and Malaysia will be allocated with 4 Wild Cards in the Main Draw and 8 Wild Cards in the Qualifying Draw. Since, none of our senior players have earned any ITF ranking points to qualify for Direct Acceptance, LTAM has to conduct a selection trial to take up the 4 Wild Cards in the Main Draw and  8 Wild Cards in the Qualifying Draw. The Selection Committee will call up at least 24 players to participate in the selection trial to select top 12 players in a round robin competition at NTC. The top 4 players will take up the 4 Wild Cards in the Main Draw and the balance will take up the Wild Cards in the Qualifying Draw. It is expected those selected players must be prepared to undergo centralised training after the Selection Trial to the completion of the Malaysia Open ITF Futures. A Coach will be designated to prepare them for this tournament.
